NUMA Press Release - AGM 2000

The Needleloom Underlay Manufacturers' Association (NUMA) was formed in the 1950s to promote the use of felt underlay within the flooring trade and to provide a means of collaboration with allied industries. The Association remains strong today, with member companies reporting increased volumes of felt underlay sales.

The photo was taken at the recent AGM held at Burnley Football Club and attended by (from left to right); Simon Macaulay (Anglo Felt Industries), Tim Cormack (Corlay and Co), Dan Otterburn (Anglo), Richard Ratcliffe (G Ratcliffe & Sons), Brian Sigsworth (NUMA Chairman & Gaskell Textiles Ltd) Arthur Gardner (NUMA Secretary), Brian Pringle (Gaskells), Peter Ratcliffe (Ratcliffes) and David Wolfenden (Cormar Textiles)

NUMA has recently launched it's own website - www.numa-online.co.uk - where you can find details and links to it's constituent members, as well as the benefits of fitting a traditional needled underlay beneath a carpet.

Brian Sigsworth, NUMA Chairman, said 'This Association and its products have been 'under the carpet' for many years, but the new Millenium allows for an awakening of an underlayment, now seen to be on the increase against the more dominant natural and synthetic rubber/foam underlays, due to its longevity.

Our members are proud to be able to offer the 'best' when it comes to choosing an underlay, to be associated with a good carpet, to enhance the carpets performance on wearability.

NUMA is the association to be associated with.
